Property Accountant

Position Overview:
The Property Accountant will be responsible for preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements, and supporting property transitions. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with real estate accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare full financial statement packages, including journal entries, general ledger review, and balance sheet support schedules.
Monitor and maintain cash balances.
Review and explain financial statement variances.
Prepare management fee calculations and process related invoices.
Complete inter-project account reconciliations bi-weekly.
Ensure timely payments for debt, taxes, sales tax, and owner distributions.
Verify bank reconciliations and budget inputs are complete and accurate.
Handle client audit requests and provide supporting documentation.
Assist with property setups and transitions, including loading balances, sale proration, and closing entries.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
3+ years of relevant property accounting experience.
CPA designation is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and real estate accounting software (Yardi required).
Strong organizational skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
