Summer Camp Program Counselor at Sky High Ranch

Make a difference in the lives of children and spend an unforgettable summer in the Rocky Mountains! Sky High Ranch is located forty-five minutes west of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Activities include arts and crafts, backpacking, boating, horseback riding, zip lining, farm with ranch animals, dance & drama, archery and sports, low-ropes, international cultures, nature and science, astronomy, homesteading, gardening, and outdoor skills. Sky High Ranch is licensed by the State of Colorado and accredited by the American Camp Association.

Summer camp is a great way to add work experience and desirable skills to your resume - especially for those pursuing a degree in education or recreation!

This role will be provided with Room & Board, Meals, 48 hours sick leave.

Pay Rate: $90/day

Dates of Employment: May 31- August 2

Program Counselor/Lifeguard General Duties:

• Supervise lifeguard staff while also providing lifeguard duties at Summer Girl Scout Camp.
• Act as a camp counselor as needed.
• Responsible for completing water safety and usage logs.

• Supervise health and safety of all off-site water related activities including but not limited to: paddleboarding, boating, swimming, & rafting.
• Live with and guide unit of girls during residential camp sessions.
• Support and counsel unit of girls in daily living, camp activities and developing peer relationships all while carrying out camp goals.
• Work on a team of 1-2 other cabin staff implementing all camp duties and responsibilities.
• Daily and weekly schedules are developed under the direction of supervisors and in cooperation with other unit staff, based on camp program, girl planning and camp goals.

This role requires a current lifeguard certification, one year of experience as a lifeguard, and preferably at least one year of supervising staff members in a waterfront environment.
