Tax Manager OR Senior Tax Manager 

Our client is a well established CPA firm located on Orange County with a diverse portfolio of clients in various industries including but not limited to: Manufacturing, Distribution, Construction/Real Estate, Non-Profit. They are on Hybrid work schedule with the exception of Busy Season (January to April) where it's required to be fully onsite. 

They are seeking an experienced Manager in the Tax Department to coach and mentor a small team The Tax Manager reports directly to the partner or director responsible for the engagement. The Tax Manager must possess strong communication skills, able to provide direction and technical guidance to junior staff, proficiency to resolve tax related matters, support and build key relationships.

This position provides an excellent opportunity for the right individual to develop judgment and breadth of experience needed to become a Senior Manager. Responsibilities:

  • Tax Manager/CPA will review and/or prepare tax returns (Corporation, Partnership, Trust and High Networth Individual - HNI), delivering a full range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe
  • Building relationships and interacting with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting and expertise
  • Providing innovative tax planning and review of complex income tax return
  • Manage and coordinate tax audits, tax provisions, and tax compliance process
  • Improve the firm’s processes by developing or implementing best practices

Qualifications:

  • BA degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA License
  • 5+ years experience in Public Accounting
  • Corporation, Partnership, Trust and High Networth Individual tax review and preparation experience
  • Strong technical tax review and preparation skills
  • Tax Audit Representation experience is a plus
  • Tax Research abilities
  • Must have excellent computer skills (QuickBooks & Microsoft office programs)
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize/multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work with staff members of diverse accounting background
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional manner
  • Analytical skills with details orientation
  • Ability to meet deadlines and solve problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess an exceptional work-ethic
