RF Test Engineer Opportunity!! Job Description In this role, you will play a part in developing software and hardware solutions to perform functional and diagnostic testing of various communication electronic assemblies (UUTs) and test equipment. Daily involvement will include understanding and capturing customer requirements and defining automation of test scenarios. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of both hardware and software testing principles, knowledge of automation tools and frameworks, and a passion for problem-solving. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: + 40% writing code, 60% measurements, testing, etc. + Requirements Analysis + Assist with performing analysis on technical OEM documentation, schematics, and UUT behavior to understand the functionality of the UUT regarding determination of test requirements + Test Design of Wiring Harness and accessories + Assist with designing physical interface connections requiring document generation of an electrical schematic or wire list and bill of material to connect the UUT input/output (I/O) to the Astronics test station I/O + Determine and assist procurement of components materials required + Test Suite Automation + Develop automated test programs to implement defined test requirements that apply stimulus to and measure outputs from the UUT + Use of revision control software for all source and document data + Perform debug and troubleshooting procedures as required to resolve failure conditions during development and reported by end users + Test Execution + Execute manual and automated tests to verify product functionality, performance, and reliability -Help analyze test results and identify root cause of failures -Customer interface may be required Top Skills Details C#, C++, OOP, Test equipment, Electronics test, Validation, Hardware, Test engineering, RF testing Additional Skills & Qualifications + RF test equipment + Experience in tactical/airborne radio logistics + Experience with object-oriented software development languages, such as C, C++, and C #. + This group focuses only on Radio test equipment. All based on military support. + Looking at Raytheon, Harris, Rockwell, Thales those type of radios that we are testing. + MATLAB + LabVIEW. + Experience in tactical or airborne radios + Knowledge and ability to demonstrate the understanding and methods of RF Measurements. + Extensive experience with software development in C# + Experience and understanding in the application of principles, theories, concepts, practices and standards relating to modern software-defined architectures. + Analytical reasoning and problem solving with knowledge in performing root cause analysis and recommending correct action to resolve test failures. The ideal candidate should have: + Proficiency in writing C# code + Experience with developing documentation from start to finish, including test requirements documents, validation plans, validation reports, and version descriptions + Ability to troubleshoot using external test and measurement equipment + Familiarity with the internals of systems to be proficient + Comfort with writing programs to remotely set up radios and take measurements from power meters, receivers, and generators in C# + Knowledge of basic functions tested on RF transmitters/receivers, such as power, modulation, sensitivity, selectivity, and frequency + Understanding of various documents needed to write a Test Requirements Document, including hardware specifications, ICDs, remote commands, schematics, operator manuals, maintenance manuals, and manufacturer's Test Programs + Knowledge of the purpose of an attenuator and the unit of frequency measurement (Hertz) + Familiarity with the three main types of modulation: amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, and phase modulation + Proficiency in using equipment/tools such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, receivers, RF/signal generators Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
