Position: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location: Akron, OH 44307
Shift: Nights – 3x12 hours (11:00 PM – 11:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Orientation: 16 hours (Non-billable)
Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
Overview: This role provides nursing care to patients in active labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery in an acute care setting. The nurse will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiology, and newborn care staff to ensure safe and supportive patient care.
Requirements:
Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
Minimum 18 months of recent Labor & Delivery experience in a permanent staff role prior to travel
Required Certifications (AHA):
BLS
ACLS
Responsibilities:
Provide care throughout the labor, delivery, and recovery process
Conduct maternal and fetal assessments, monitoring, and documentation
Assist with vaginal deliveries and support emergent C-sections
Administer medications and IV therapies
Collaborate with providers and support staff to ensure optimal outcomes
Educate and support mothers and families throughout the birthing process
Scheduling & Timekeeping:
Hours will be submitted and approved via standard electronic timekeeping platform
