NETWORK ENGINEER

HYBRID/ SPOKANE WASHINGTON

SUMMARY:

  • The Network Engineer is a critical member of our global network team. You will be responsible for the ongoing configuration and deployment of various network services in our ever-evolving landscape

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute within operational standards for firewall configurations, network change requests, documentation, and performance troubleshooting procedures in a global environment inclusive of on-premise and cloud environments.
  • Maintain secure and auditable configurations for all network devices (e.g. firewalls, switches, Wireless Access Points).
  • Implement and maintain a proactive network monitoring strategy.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure and Information Security teams on network improvements and operation of secure services.
  • Assure critical network resources have necessary resiliency and redundancy.
  • Execute the deployment of new network equipment and settings.
  • Ability to work within a defined change management process with willingness to participate in after-hours scheduled maintenance and on-call support.

  • Education/ Certifications/ Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required
    • Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred in one of the following fields; information technology or related field of study with a network engineering focus.
    • Minimum 5 years relevant experience as a network engineer or related technical role
    • Technical training in networks and related disciplines a plus
    • May consider a combination of relevant experience with educational and other skills and abilities in lieu of educational requirements
  • Competencies/ Skills/ Abilities
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products
    • Familiarity with general firewall configuration and support, including IPsec VPN configurations, routing, ACLs, log analysis and troubleshooting
    • Familiarity with networking technologies (e.g., IPSEC, routing, VLANs, L2 & L3 switching, 802.1x, WiFi)
    • Basic understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
    • Experience with FortiGate Firewalls, FortiClient, FortiAnalyzer, Fortinet EMS, Meraki WAPs, Cisco Catalyst switches, Solarwinds, IPAM, configuration management.
    • Experience with network traffic monitoring, analysis, packet capture, and troubleshooting (Cacti, Wireshark, Netflow/Sflow.
    • Any experience with Zscaler ZPA/ZIA and/or Extrahop would be beneficial

The pay range for this role is: $62,050-105,800

Pay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographical market data. This position is eligible for our comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Additional ENGIE benefits include a 401k plan, paid time off and annual bonus . ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work schedules are determined by business need and manager discretion; full time employment is considered 40 hours per week

  • Traveling off-site to employee and client locations globally, events and vendor meetings is required
  • Business travel may be required up to 5% of the time

  • Occasional Lifting: Ability to lift and move items, such as files or office supplies, typically up to 10 pounds.
  • Flexibility: Ability to perform tasks that may require bending, twisting, or standing briefly to access materials or equipment.
