This is a Full-Timeposition at King's Schools for the 2025-2026 Academic School Year.
Compensation: between $50,000 - $93,888 per year, DOE

KING’S SCHOOLS MINISTRY MISSION & VISION STATEMENTS

POSITION SUMMARY

The Spanish Immersion Elementary Teacher is responsible for all aspects of classroom instruction in Spanish, as well as organization, teaching, and supervision within the area of assigned responsibility.  Keep the Principal and Director of the Spanish Immersion Program updated regarding activities as a teacher, student progress and the condition of the classroom. Actively contribute as a member of the school staff and relevant parent organizations. Follow all the purposes, standards, policies, and procedures set by CRISTA Ministries and King's Elementary School.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following are the essential duties of King’s Teachers who play a vital role in accomplishing the Christian mission and ministry of King’s Schools specifically, and of CRISTA generally.

Christ-centered Leadership and Education

• Foremostly, model a committed Christian faith and personal relationship with Jesus and minister to the spiritual needs of students and our school community through all activities undertaken in Teacher’s role.
• Educate students in a manner consistent with, and reflective of, the Christian tenets of the Statement of Faith and the CCC, including the incorporation of these shared Christian religious beliefs and conduct into all student curricula (sometimes referred to as integrating faith and learning, or integration of a biblical worldview) and programming.
• Teach a biblical worldview that is integrated into all curriculum and activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the Bible and application of a biblical worldview to subject matter and teacher’s conduct as a minister in our school community. 
• Through godly leadership, engage and inspire the academic, spiritual and emotional growth of students.
• Be ready and available to lead staff devotionals and staff prayer.

Discipleship and Spiritual Development

• Model a personal and growing Christian faith that aligns with CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Chrisitan Community Commitment (CCC). Contribute to the spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical welfare of the students.
• Minister to the spiritual needs of students and develop a vibrant Christian faith community.
• Support the spiritual needs of students through relationship and personal modeling of Teacher’s own Christian faith.
• Lead classes in daily prayer.
• Instruct and be available to lead and support students’ spiritual formation.
• Oversee and support chapel attendance and students’ spiritual engagement at chapel.

DUTIES

Christ-Centered Leadership

• Relate teaching to God's truth and the ultimate goals of Christ-likeness and sharing Christ worldwide.
• Encourage salvation and the growth of each student "in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man."
• Continuously emphasize the goal of becoming Christ-like—through faith, love, and obedience to Christ—and highlight how this goal relates to both personal growth and social well-being. 

Academic and Professional Development

• Maintain professional standards by remaining alert to academic developments.
• Engage in continuous learning of the educative process, work toward the established goals of the school and classroom, lead in technology skills, and master new content, methods, and materials.  
• Participate in and complete Language First certification.
• Attend professional development growth activities (including Language First certification courses) on a regular basis

Curriculum and Instruction

• Deliver the adopted curriculum effectively, utilize provided textual and resource materials, and plan lessons on an annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily basis, ensuring alignment with the plan.
• Incorporate 21st Century Skills into instruction.
• Prepare lessons, units and projects that are suitable to the age level and developmental needs of the students.
• Adapt teaching methods, strategies and materials that meet the needs and learning styles of students.
• Prepare and conduct evaluative testing, administer MAP Growth assessments for their grade, interpret the data and use the data to increase student learning.
• Counsel and advise students on academic, personal, and spiritual concerns.

Administrative Management

• Submit weekly online and hard copy assignment sheets (K‑6), principals and families.
• Update website weekly, RenWeb and/or classroom Facebook page.
• Keep accurate academic records, progress reports, and submit these to the office at the scheduled times.
• Maintain cumulative student files.
• Inform the administrative assistants or principal immediately if unable to fulfill any duty assigned.  In case of absence, notify principals as early as possible; prepare information and materials for the guest teacher.
• Supervise student intern teachers and cooperate with area colleges and universities in providing opportunities for observation and demonstration, helping to orient, assist, and mentor teachers.
• Attend faculty devotions, meetings, orientations, workshops, open houses, parent-teacher conferences and other professional meetings deemed necessary.

Student and Activities Management

• Guard carefully the health and safety of the children including seeing them to carpool and/or on the bus after school each day. 
• Supervise regular activities such as:
• Carpool duties
• KIDS Praise
• Assemblies
• Additional activities where a cooperative teacher effort is needed.
• Attend and promote Open Houses, Tour & Information Sessions, PINS (Parent Information Nights), and other activities related to Admissions. 
• Advise and participate in extracurricular activities, committees and programs.  

Communication and Relationship Building

• Build relationships and connections with students, parents and colleagues.
• Collaborate as a positive and innovative grade-level team member, contribute to PLCs (Professional Learning Communities), and uphold the expectations of King’s.
• Engage proactively with students, parents, and principals to discuss student progress, address questions, and support growth.
• Provide thoughtful written reports on the various forms provided for this purpose.

Additional Duties

• Arrive 30 minutes prior to the school day and remain 30 minutes after school is dismissed depending on what is appropriate for the teacher’s class schedule.  Inform the office if leaving campus during the school day.
• Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

CHRIST-CENTERED 

• Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior
• Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc).
• Prayerfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
• Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices.
• Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
• Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC). 
• Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related fieldfrom an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or equivalent.  

EXPERIENCE

• Fluent in Spanish or experience teaching Spanish.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION

• CPR/FIRST AID/AED Training.

SOFTWARE / EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE

• MS Office 365

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE

• Experience in teaching in a dual language immersion classroom environment.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

• Valid WA State certified teaching certificate or participation in plan for state licensure.
• Bilingual: ACTFL advanced-high to superior level rating, if non-native speaker.
