Job Description

Position: Full Time / Regular Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Manager, Facilities and Maintenance

SUMMARY: The Facilities and Maintenance Technician at Operation Stand Down Tennessee is primarily responsible for the provision of maintenance services for the agency’s buildings, equipment, vehicles and operating systems. As such, he/she is responsible for the performance of routine, preventative and problem-solving maintenance activities to support safe and efficient operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilities and Maintenance:

  • Perform a range of routine, preventative and/or problem solving activities (building, demolition, renovation and/or maintenance) on the agency’s physical structures to ensure continuous and safe operations.
  • Perform a range of routine, preventative and/or problem solving activities on the agency’s equipment to ensure continuous and safe operations.
  • Perform a range of routine, preventative and/or problem solving activities on the agency’s vehicles to ensure continuous and safe operations.
  • Perform a range of routine, preventative and/or problem solving activities (building, demolition, renovation and/or maintenance) on the agency’s operating systems (i.e. electric, plumbing, HVAC, vehicles et al.) to ensure continuous and safe operations.
  • Complete and document regular inspections of facilities, equipment, vehicles and/or systems consistent with department plan.
  • Complete purchase orders and process purchase orders with required documentation per agency procedures.
  • Maintain written record(s) of jobs completed.
  • Participates in development of best practices for the department
  • Participates in regular department and team meetings
  • Assists, as indicated by team absence, in janitorial and grounds keeping activities.

General Duties:

  • Adheres to all Agency and Department policies and procedures.
  • Participates in Agency and Department meetings, data collection, and Quality Improvement Monitoring and Review.
  • Collaborates with the Director to develop the program budget.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Preferred certification and/or licensure in one or more skill areas (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry) and or demonstrated skills and working knowledge (including use of tools) of the same.
  • Possesses valid, current Driver’s License
