Director of Accountingâ¯ââ¯Lead firmâwide finance strategy from our South Florida (Cypressâ¯Creek) office

What Youâll Do

- Set the framework â¯ââ¯Develop, document, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Run the engine â¯ââ¯Oversee all accounting operations (AP, AR, billing, trust accounting, collections, banking, client relations).
- Support the team â¯ââ¯Resolve escalated issues and provide dayâtoâday guidance to accounting staff.
- Keep accounts clean â¯ââ¯Ensure timely bank reconciliations for operating and trust accounts; monitor unapplied cash, trust balances, and unbilled WIP.
- Reconcile & report â¯ââ¯Tie out key GL accounts, maintain a robust chart of accounts, and issue accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearâtoâdate financial statements.
- Deliver insights â¯ââ¯Generate financial metrics and analysis for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Own compliance â¯ââ¯Coordinate quarterly reviews/audits, manage regulatory filings, and ensure onâtime federal, state, and local reporting.
What You Bring
- Bachelorâs in Accounting, Finance, or Business (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership, including departmentâlevel oversight.
- CPA or CMA preferred.
- Proven track record designing internal controls, leading audits, and translating complex data into actionable insight.
