Acara Solutions seeks highly qualified candidates to work Hybrid with our client in Indianapolis, IN. Interested?

Pay: $63.16 / hr.

Hours: 40 hrs/Week. 

Length: Contract (12 months ).

Here's what you'd do:

  • Develop and deliver new component designs and design changes for high-performance gas turbine gears (and related transmission components such as shafts, bearings, and seals), including creating design concepts, optimising, finalising, creating drawings/model-based definitions, and releasing hardware.
  • Perform strength, lifting, durability, and performance analyses to validate component suitability for new engine applications or life extension of existing ones.
  • Manage dimensional tolerance stacks, GD&T, and tolerance analysis to ensure fit, function, and manufacturability of gear systems.
  • Interface with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and aftermarket teams: review supplier documentation, assess non-conforming hardware, handle change proposals, support production and service issues.
  • Conduct investigations of in-service or prototype hardware issues, including failure analysis, root cause & corrective action (RCCA), and implement design improvements.
  • Present and defend design solutions to programme leadership, collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams (analysis, manufacturing, materials, MRO).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable aerospace design standards, safety, and product integrity principles.

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Gas Turbine.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Engineering/ Aerospace Designs.
  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical/component design experience, preferably in gear systems, rotating equipment or aerospace applications.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree.
  • PhD.
  • Competitor Experience.
