Position Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Engineer with 8+ years of progressive experience to build and operate enterprise-grade data platforms that power business-critical analytics workloads. This role requires deep technical expertise across distributed query engines (Trino), cloud infrastructure (AWS), container orchestration (Kubernetes), deployment automation (CI/CD), and business continuity (disaster recovery). You will be responsible for designing resilient, performant, and cost-effective systems while driving operational excellence through automation, observability, and reliability engineering practices.

Experience Requirements

• 8+ years in Cloud Engineering and 3+ years Trino production experience
• 5+ years CI/CD and 3+ years in Disaster Recovery
• Expertise in Trino query execution, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Expertise in Trino cluster configuration, tuning, scaling, and connector integrations
• Advanced SQL skill such as Query optimization, performance debugging, execution plan analysis.
• Strong Python programming for automation, tooling, and scripts
• Expertise in deployments using Terraform/CloudFormation
• Expertise in monitoring systems using Datadog.
• Experience with concepts such as Data Lakehouse, Iceberg, Data lake.
• AWS Core: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Glue, Athena, RDS
• Production EKS experience with pods, deployments, services and StatefulSets.
• Prior experience with Helm charts, operators, Docker, backup/recovery strategies
• Experienced in GitHub (repositories, PRs, Actions, workflows)
• End-to-end pipeline design with automated testing
• Blue-green/canary deployments, GitOps, automated rollbacks
• Familiarity with Disaster Recovery, backup/restore for distributed systems
• Familiarity with AWS Backup, S3 replication, multi-region architectures

Key Responsibilities

• Optimize Trino query performance and troubleshoot complex issues
• Design, deploy, and maintain Trino clusters on AWS EKS
• Implement automated testing, deployment, and rollback strategies
• Develop Python automation tools and scripts
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions
• Design and maintain Disaster Recovery plans and runbooks
• Participate in multi-region failover and automated backup verification
• Monitor systems and document processes
