A distinguished family office specializing in the establishment and administration of trusts, companies, and various asset-holding arrangements tailored to meet the unique objectives of our client families. We operate across multiple jurisdictions, providing comprehensive accounting and investment performance monitoring services to support these arrangements. Our extensive network of professional advisers and specialists allows us to address our families' diverse requirements effectively. We also serve as coordinators for service providers on specific transactions or an ongoing basis, resulting in a robust suite of services designed to support family offices. Currently, we manage approximately 40 entities across the U.S. and Europe.
Position Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations and strategic direction of our family office. Reporting directly to the owner, the CFO will be responsible for daily cash management, financial reporting, and ensuring tax efficiency across various jurisdictions. This hands-on position requires a smart, capable, and hard-working individual who excels in multi-tasking and possesses a strong background in finance, particularly within a family office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight:
Led the financial planning, reporting, and analysis for the family office, consolidating financial data from multiple entities across different jurisdictions.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, including investment performance and investor relations updates.
Cash Management:
Oversee daily cash management activities, managing over 50-60 bank accounts, and ensuring optimal liquidity for ongoing operations and investments.
Investment Management:
Collaborate with the investment team to monitor and report on the performance of hedge funds, private equity, and fixed-income investments.
Provide insights on financial instruments and investment strategies to optimize returns.
Tax Efficiency and Compliance:
Develop and implement strategies to enhance tax efficiency while ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations in the U.S. and Europe.
Maintain a clear understanding of different jurisdictions and their impact on the family office's financial strategies.
Real Estate Financials
Oversee financial aspects related to real estate investments, ensuring proper accounting and reporting.
Coordination and Collaboration:
Act as a liaison with external professional advisers, tax consultants, and banking institutions, including experience with Swiss banks.
Coordinate service providers around specific transactions and ongoing management of family office activities.
Team Management:
Mentor and manage a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting; Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a family office or private equity environment.
Strong understanding of financial instruments and investment structures, with a focus on hedge funds, private equity, and fixed income.
Extensive experience with international and domestic trust structures, particularly in the U.S. and Europe.
Proven track record in cash management, financial reporting, and tax efficiency strategies.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a true people person.
Proficient with financial systems and software, with a keen ability to leverage technology for improved financial management.
