The Role

As an Assistant Artist/Food Handler at Muse Paintbar, you will play a supportive role in both artistic instruction and culinary service. You will assist in preparing for painting sessions, engage with guests during events, and contribute to the food and beverage service. This position is perfect for someone developing their skills in art instruction while already having a strong foundation in food service operations. This position is ideal for someone who is flexible and comfortable fulfilling Assistant Artist or Food Handler responsibilities depending on the workday and operational needs of the company.



Key Responsibilities

  • Session Preparation: Utilize provided planning templates and note the steps for the painting breakdown plan from lead artists during team huddles.

  • Engaging Painting Support: Assist the painting sessions with step-by-step guidance, engaging customers throughout and managing the session time efficiently.

  • Session Organization: Prepare for upcoming sessions by printing the attendee lists, assigning group seating, and organizing paint palettes to ensure a smooth and organized experience.

  • Welcoming Host: Greet customers as they arrive, guide them to their seats, and provide aprons.

  • Food and Beverage Ambassador: Direct customers to the food and beverage options available via the QR menu. Attend to food and beverage needs at the bar and tableside as needed, ensuring guests have a seamless and enjoyable dining experience.

  • Food Preparation and Presentation: When working as the assigned Food Handler, prepare high-quality food orders with an emphasis on presentation and safety.

  • Kitchen Operations and Safety: When working as the assigned Food Handler, adhere to the kitchen checklist, ensuring a clean and safe environment while diligently monitoring kitchen equipment and maintaining safety standards.

  • Customer Interaction: Engage with guests throughout the session, providing support and encouragement, and offering to take additional food and beverage orders.

  • Photo and Social Media Engagement: Support with taking photos during the session for social media, enhancing the overall experience, and promoting guest interaction.

  • Session Cleanup and Maintenance: Assist in the breakdown and cleanup process post-session, ensuring the studio is well-prepared for future events.

  • Team Collaboration: Work flexibly with the team, sharing responsibilities to provide the best customer experience possible.


Shift Requirements

  • Part-time availability, averaging 15-25 hours per week.

  • Ability to work varied hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Artistic skills, particularly in acrylics, with a willingness to learn and assist in art instruction.

  • Experience and ability to execute menu items, focusing on food presentation and safety.

  • Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence.

  • Tech-savviness with kitchen appliances and session operation technology.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel when required.

Experience and Education

  • Must be 21 years or older.

  • Interest or background in the arts is preferred.

  • Prior experience in a customer-focused environment, such as a bar or restaurant.

  • Alcohol Safety/TIPS and ServSafe Certifications (provided by Muse if needed).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, moving, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Agility and stamina to move throughout the studio quickly and safely, including tight spaces and on raised surfaces (i.e. stage).

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that involve music and large groups.
